The Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic has launched a new scholarship scheme for talented international students who wish to pursue full-time studies at a higher education institution in Slovakia. The scholarship is available to applicants from all over the world who are interested in studying in bachelor’s degree programmes, combined bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, or master’s degree programmes related to the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Slovak Republic (SK RIS3 2021+). Successful applicants can receive a scholarship of up to €15,000. The scholarship is provided as a monthly allowance of €500 during the first three consecutive academic years of a bachelor’s or combined bachelor’s and master’s degree programme, or during the first two consecutive academic years of a master’s degree programme in Slovakia.
Applications can be submitted until 8 September 2026, 23:59 CEST via the official application portal.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must successfully complete either:

• the SAT test with a minimum score of 1100 points, or
• the SCIO tests in Mathematics and General Study Prerequisites with an average percentile of at least 63.

The scholarship scheme is co-financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and the state budget of the Slovak Republic.
