Craft workshops for international researchers in Slovakia

Are you interested to find out more about the Slovak folk art, learn a traditional Slovak craft technique and make your own unique souvenir?

EURAXESS Slovakia invites you to join the craft workshops for international researchers in Slovakia that will be held in Centre for Folk Art Production (ÚĽUV) in Bratislava on 17 and 24 of May 2024 from 4-6 PM.

On the craft workshops you will be working in the small groups guided by the experienced tutors and have a chance to try one of the traditional Slovak craft techniques: wire craft (drotárstvo), glass painting (maľba na sklo), felting (plstenie) and weaving on a small frame (tkanie na doštičke).

The workshops are free of charge for Phd students and international researchers and their families in Slovakia. In addition, you can take the hand-made product you create on the workshop with you as your unique souvenir.

Difficulty: Don´t worry if you lack a craft, the workshops are suitable for beginners.

Important note: Due to limited capacity in the craft workshops, participant registration is neccessary. Please, mind that a person can register only for one of the workshops (17 or 24 May). Upon registration, the selected participants will receive the confirmation email with further instructions.

In the case you apply, but cannot attend the workshop, please, let us know as soon as possible (e-mail: euraxess@saia.sk) given that waiting lists will be created for the potential free spots to be  offered to other interested candidates.
