EURAXESS Slovakia, centres for researchers and research organisations are helping to overcome obstacles and support smooth operation of the mobility programmes designated for researchers. They provide information and services to international and Slovak researchers and their families on various aspects of mobility, including practical information (regarding the issues of social security, taxes, visa and residence permits, or study opportunities for family members) related to the stay in another country. With their services and activities they intend to support career development of researchers in all stages of their career.
Vital communication tools in the work of the centres include the European portal EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion (https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu) and national EURAXESS portals; through these portals researchers may search also for job opportunities and research institutions may announce openings for researchers free of charge.
EURAXESS Slovakia is part of the European EURAXESS Network, more than 600 centres operating in 42 countries; the network was created by the initiative of the European Commission in 2004.
SAIA, n. o. (Slovak Academic Information Agency) in Bratislava is the coordinator of the EURAXESS Slovakia project on national level, with the national network of EURAXESS centres situated in all of its 5 offices.
SAIA manages the Slovak national EURAXESS portal www.euraxess.sk in both Slovak and English versions.
The initiative is currently financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of SR and the European Commission.
