REGISTRATION: Trip to High Tatras (1 July 2023)

We would like to invite you to an event for international PhD students, researchers, university teachers and their family members which will take place in HIGH TATRAS on Saturday, 1 July. We hope that this informal event will make you fall in love with Slovakia even more, and provide a networking opportunity to get to know each other better.
Participation in this event is FREE OF CHARGE.

BASIC INFO:


- we will start our trip in Poprad at 11:00 AM. There will be a bus that will pick us up near the Poprad-Tatry railway station, and drive us to the Popradské pleso hike starting point. From there, we will hike to Popradské pleso mountain lake. The hike is of medium difficulty. Please, wear sturdy footwear appropriate for hiking, and bring weather-appropriate clothes (extra pair of socks is always a good idea). Do not forget to put on sunscreen. The hike is 1 to 2 hours each way, depending on our tempo. We will spend approximately an hour around the lake ( to rest and soak in the beauty of the mountains). The expected return to Poprad drop-off location is at 17:00 – 18:00 PM.


- Please, if you suffer from health conditions that would make it difficult for you to endure a medium-difficulty 5-hour walking trip, consider your health condition before attending. You attend on your own responsibility. We strongly advise you to take out temporary one-day insurance for the mountains, in case anything happens to you or your family. Consult with your insurance company.
